Lunch Date At Zaytinya, DC

Early morning people that we are, we (Dr. Fab & I) have changed our date nights to 'date afternoons'. We just seem to enjoy them way more. One other thing that I have been doing is making reservations for all the restaurants that I wish to try way in advance and put them in our calendar. Once it is on our weekly schedule, we rarely ever change it.

One such restaurant I had been meaning to try for months was Zaytinya. I went there a few weeks back and tried their weekend brunch. I am a big lover of mediterranean cuisine. It is healthy, filling, delicious and has a lot of vegetarian options. What's not to like right?

Zaytinya serves small plates aka mezze platters which are meant to be shared. The small plates style of dining is meant to encourages conversation, and drinking. The experience allows everyone to sample a variety of spreads and cheeses, vegetable, meat, and creative desserts.

I was really impressed with the preparations. Everything we ordered was flavorsome and presented with perfection such as hommus which is my all time favorite (who's isn't?), baba ghannouge, and falafel. My husband really enjoyed his lamb kabob and last but not the least the dessert - turkish delight was to die for.

If you are a fan of mediterranean cuisine, you are sure to love the preparations of Chef José Andrés.
