Metronomy are back and in full swing. The quirky, electronic glam-rock band we all know and love have what seems like a huge year in front of them — they just announced a new single, video clip, tour and album release date. The preview single track “Love Letters” has a gospel touch in it with a constant jangly beat and a repetitive group chorus complete with blissful harmonies.

Their title track has already caught people’s attention with an accompanying video by visual genius, Michel Gondry (also behind Bjork’s Crystalline video). Featuring a box-like structure with windows painted in different scenes to watch the band play through, the video is simplistic, as is the song itself. As one of the band members mentioned in response to the video, “it really highlights the art of tambourine playing.”

An interesting choice for first single release by Metronomy, however we here at The Wild Honey Pie are expecting some more party starters from the band before the album release date on March 10th.
