A priceless painting of Leonardo Da Vinci, which claimed to have been lost for over five hundred years has just been found by a group of researchers in Italy. The painting that depicts noblewoman Isabella d’Este has been safely hidden away in a vault inside a bank in Swtzerland. According to The Telegraph, expert analysts have confirmed this to be an original work by Da Vinci.
“There are no doubts that the portrait is the work of Leonardo,” said Prof Pedretti, a recognized expert in Da Vinci artworks. ”I can immediately recognize Da Vinci’s handiwork, particularly in the woman’s face.”
Even though this appears to be a work of Da Vinci, there’s still a mystery around this painting which questions its’ originality because this portrait was painted on a canvas, which according to experts was not used by Da Vinci during his time.
