Losing weight without exercise, is that possible? – Here are some facts that you have to know about.
Not everyone likes physical activity. Continuous sweating and sporty lifestyle are not to the taste of many people.

Unfortunately, many (perhaps most) of these same people are experiencing problems with their weight, due to their unwillingness or impossibility to spend little time for exercise.

But can you lose weight without doing any exercises or it is just an advertising myth from the television? Let's find out.

Losing weight without exercise?

Probably already ahead of me you answered with "no", "absurd", "impossible", "not gonna happen". And actually You are not far from the truth, but my goal in this article is to examine the reasons and factors that make the exercises to be mandatory aspect of the ultimate goal - losing weight.

Why exercise is important for weight loss?

Let's for a moment accept that the weight loss is just a bonus to our effort to be fit and healthy. And in fact, exactly this effort will surely help you in any activity that is part of your everyday life - to be better and more efficient in the office, at school, at university.

Increased physical activity is directly related to reduced risk of heart disease, hypertension, metabolic syndrome. When you exercise, you work not only about how you look, but also for your cardiovascular system, high muscle tone and flexibility.

If that does not sound good enough to make you start exercise, then understand that, when you are on a diet without physical activity or exercise, this would lead to loss of more muscle fibers rather than unwanted fat.

In other words, you are reducing your weight, but not at the expense of the fats in your body. And is that what you want to achieve with weight loss? I think you most certainly don't want this. You don't want to lose muscle mass and your precious muscle fibers.

You want to lose as much fat as possible. However when you practice a diet without enough physical exercise you are unlocking the catabolic processes and hormones(such as cortisol) in your body, which is resulting in loss of muscle mass and not fat, and in addition that is harming your body and health.

So, you have to combine your diet with an appropriate exercising plan in order to achieve effective balance between loosing weight and your health.

Don't be totally disappointed and just see the facts from that point of view: our body is designed to be in motion and perform(even be it partial/occasional) physical activity. Try 1-2 physical workouts (whether fitness or running, swimming, football, the choice is yours).

If you have already tried to be "active", but the result was disappointing, then think about what repels you in such physical activity. Try to motivate yourself and find and realize the benefits for you and your health of being physically active.

How to start exercising and lose weight?

Here are some tips how to include the sport to your weight loss plan:

- Find sports activity that you like - ask yourself what is the first thing you would do, when you put your sport suit on. Yes, such suit or similar and relevant sport outfit is required, because we are not talking about playing chess here.

- Start with realistic goals and expectations - Olympic preparations and physical form is an amazing achievement, but not when you want to play sport at a time when you were almost sure to go with just dieting. If you can do the exercise with 12 kg dumbbells at the moment, don't fall in love in those with label "30 kg" until the end of the month. Don't hurry, you have all the time in the world.

- Keep track of your training, your diet, your recovery - understand that you are starting from a certain starting level of physical fitness and training. How you exercise, eat and recover will depend precisely on this level of training. Don't worry if your training is different
from that of others in the sports center. They probably just have started earlier from a different "starting point."

- You are thinking something like: "I have a workout after three days, until then I shouldn't exercise" - Really?

If you have the energy, the desire and drive to do another workout, and you expect it three days later, well apparently you are doing great with your regimen. If you feel that you want to exercise aniway, then you can combine and exercise something with a lighter load, which will free your mind and help you relax, untill your next training session.

Finally, I would like to summarize - weight loss without exercise will not give you the results to which you aspire. If you do not exercise, you will not be able to "tell" your body to burn only unwanted fat, and not to "break down" your muscle tone and then despite that you will lose some weight, you won't feel slim at all.
