Meet LOOP TV , a modular Android-based smart TV that gives you freedom to continually upgrade the system and hardware including the software, speakers and even the monitor. With LOOP, you don’t have to worry about using an outdated smart TV. If there’s a bigger TV in the market, you can grab it and hook it up to LOOP to use it as the way it was before, thanks to the LOOP Central unit which uses an open source code to let developers help make it better. LOOP is also connectable with a variety of systems including PlayStation, Xbox, Apple TV, Chrome and more.

The Hungarian team behind LOOP TV are now looking to crowdfund this project with a $275,000 goal. You can pre-order the Basic model of LOOP TV package for $299 or the basic central unit for $59 by backing up this project on Indiegogo. If the project reaches its goal in time, LOOP TV will hit the stores by the end of 2014.
