Looking Back at London Fashion Week

Hellooo shimmers,With London fashion week this week I have been looking back at what has been happening throughout the last 29 years.1984- London Fashion Week Launches at Olympia1985- British Government Sponsors LFW1989- KAte Moss heads down the catwalk at age 151992- Alexander Mcqueen debuts his first collection1993- The British fashion council establishes the New Generation sponsorship scheme1995- (the year i was born!) Katharine Hamnett Stages her first presentation for 6 years1997- British hotspots departs to Paris, Galliano to Christian Dior, Mcqueen to Givenchy2000- Fashion East launches and has become one of Londons leading promoters of new talent.2002- Paul Smith rips into Brit designers who abandon London for sunnier cities.2005- Working with Topman, Fashion East sets up MAN a platform for London's menswear designers2006- Topshop Unique, the high street store's premium in-house label shows on the official schedule for the first time2007- Models under age of 16 banned from LFW2008- Vivienne Westwood returned to LFW for first time since 1996 and Kate Moss takes takes to the catwalk for the first time in 4 years for Johnny Blue Eyes2009- Burberry returns to LFW, 25th Anniversary of LFW2010- LFW first major event to stream all shows online2012- Stella McCartney shows a "one-off" collection from his label and mens fashion week launches.2013- Lets see what happens...:) Laura x
