Look Who’s Back

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

Friends. It's been too long. Almost a year to be exact. After 2 1/2 years and over 2M views I took some time off. And you deserve to know why.

The reason is two-fold:

First, the FDA came down hard on anyone making money with claims that anything but FDA approved pharmaceuticals can treat, prevent, or cure disease. So, rather than stress about information being on here that could get me into trouble, I just shut it down "temporarily" while I got it all cleaned up...which turned into a year.

I enjoyed a bit of time off from writing. The blog had started to be a bit of an obligation and I was letting it stress me out (I mean, this is primarily a HEALTH blog, and stress management is one of the main ways that the body stays healthy, so I was a bit of a hypocrite eh?)

Anyhow, I also needed to take time to organize my life. Prioritize. Purge and clean and that meant my brain as well as my home.

I also had my fourth baby in August:

My husband is still traveling a good bit for work and I had to figure out how to give my children what they needed, while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle which now includes exercising 5 days/week - see the sidebar for my workout regimen - it's given me 4 of my 6 abs back so far at 6mo. postpartum!

So, I'm back. But things will be different.

See, my kids only have 1/2 of their parents 1/2 of the time and it wasn't fair for them to also only have 1/2 of me, which would have given them a grand total of 1/4 of the normal amount of parent 100% of the time.

Before I took a blog break I was giving you all more time that I should have, which was taking time away from my children. I'm embarrassed to say that, but it's the truth. And, though I love you all dearly, I love my children more. And I'm thankful that they are my primary job. So I gave up a lot of things to focus on prioritizing them better. My Young Living business had to be put to the side. This was hard as I saw others who started after me pass me by, on into the sunset with their success. I had to give up the income I was receiving from my affiliate accounts (listed on the right sidebar, if you're interested.) But it was all worth it.

I won't let my personal work keep me from parenting my children. I didn't want to hire more childcare. I want to parent my babies. And they are growing like, woah, fast.

So, like I said, things have changed.

I'll be blogging again (yay!) though not as much. I'll have to reign it in a bit on the natural remedies to be sure I'm being FDA compliant. I don't agree with their position, but they are not a company to be messed with, so, for now, I will give in.

I'm going to let this blog be more about who I am as a person. So, I'm sure
I'll lose some of you. Here's the truth about me:

I sometimes wish I were one of those people who keeps the peace, keeps the rules, and is liked by everyone. But I'm an 8.

An Enneagram 8. **I just heard a few hundred of you click your "unsubscribe" button, and that's ok.

It would probably be really sweet to be a Taylor or a Dolly or a Joanna, but according to these tests I'm a MLK, Jr. A Hemingway, Paul Newman, Winston Churchill, and a Gandhi. (Let's pretend Fidel Castro & Sadaam Hussein aren't also on this list shall we?)

But my personality is probably why I started this blog in the first place. I saw people being misinformed, mislead, and straight up lied to. It was making people sick and tired and depressed and infertile. It pissed me off and I wanted to help to right this wrong.

I'm an ISTJ. **click...click

I'm blunt and honest. I have a passion for justice and truth. I love to help people become better versions of themselves, to empower them to take hold of their lives and their health; and sometimes I do things that totally screw me over by overextending myself (i.e.: blogging into the wee hours of the morning when I have children to care for starting at 6am.)

I sometimes curse because it doesn't bother me an I like to. I think there are a lot of other bigger problems in the world and studies suggest that people who curse are generally more trustworthy. **click, click, click

I love to help people who truly need it. I don't care to help people who are lazy or entitled. *click

I'm also really excited. This is a new year, and a new blog.

So many things have changed since I last wrote. I can't wait to share it all with you.

live well. be well.
