Long lasting lipsticks are somewhat of an obsession for me. Because ain't nobody got time for endless touch-ups. I've tried and tested a good amount of claims up until now, and apart from MAC's retro matte line, nothing has really delivered like I'd like it to. When I saw the Me-Now Generation II Matte Lip glosses online I was instantly intrigued, and after the success of the first one I tried, I've slowly been building up my collection.
The Me Now Generation II Long Lasting Lip Gloss from Born Pretty Store is described as a waterproof velvety matte lipstick. It is meant to be transfer resistant and not sticky whatsoever. Happily, I can report that it lives up to all those claims. The doe foot applicator is small and precise, leading to easy application and no need for a lip liner. The color is still okay with an extra layer too, and doesn't ball up like some liquid lipsticks can tend to do. They also last better than the average, I can get away with all day even with the darker colours without the color fading which is absolutely unheard of for me.
Drying with a velvety matte finish, and the incredible lasting power, there is a price to pay for this unfortunately. These things will suck the moisture out of your lips and only the best of lip balms will be able to help. It's worth it though for the ease of use - and the amazing price too. The three shades I have are #3 a rosy pink, #26 a tawny peachy nude and the darkest shade, a deep burgundy red which is stunning for winter. All are gorgeous and I'm looking to add a dark red to my collection at some point.
