Local Dogs’ Charity Receives Quirky New Visitor Centre

By David13676 @dogspired

westTiger Log Cabins has completed a new log cabin for local UK charity West Yorkshire Dog Rescue (WYDR).

The purpose-built visitor center will enhance the operations of WYDR, a charity that temporarily re-homes dogs in volunteers’ homes in order to minimise the distress associated with kennel environments. The charity – which relies entirely on public donations – then works to match them to suitable “forever families.”

The log cabin’s design responds to a need for the charity to have a dedicated reception room for visitors. The log cabin means that the charity can now extend a warm and comfortable welcome to families visiting the premises, in which they can discuss their needs and meet prospective pooches.

The cabin will help Kathy Trout and potential adopters to interact with the dogs in a safe, controlled environment away from the other dogs at the charity. When the cabin isn’t being used to help with dog adoptions, it will be used as an office to help in the day-to-day running of the charity.

Charity trustee Kathy Trout said: “The installation team remained cheerful and coped admirably given the circumstances. They worked incredibly hard to a high standard and the end result is a fabulous shed which we are going to use as a visitor center for people to meet and greet the rescue dogs in our Charity.”
