It is a new year, and while many argue that it is just another day and you can start goals and resolutions any time of the year... many need a little push to jump start these actions. Much like a scent that evokes emotions and inspiration, the New Year just gets you going!One mantra that keeps me going is to ‘live simply’. I feel that if I live simply, I also live intentionally. Simple and intentional living motivates me to clean up my home and head from clutter.
The Glade® Clean Linen® fragrance has inspired me to create this super easy burlap canvas to bring frescura y pureza into my home, especially after the holiday season. I choose the phrase “live simply”, but you can make it bilingual by using “vivir simple”, “simplemente” or “vivirla”.
Supplies needed are shown above: foam brushes (1 inch worked best for this project), letter stencils, acrylic paint (egg), burlap canvas and painter's tape (not pictured). I picked up all the supplies, a Glade® warmer and Clean Linen® scented Wax Melts from Target. I love that the craft section is right across from the air freshener aisle. :)
First step is to line up your words. Start with the last line and work your way up. This is an easy way to keep words straight.
When painting on the stencils, be sure not to put too much paint and pounce on the burlap instead of brushing on. I was resourceful and used some of the cardboard packaging as my pallet. 
The acrylic dries pretty quickly, so there is not much wait time to move on to the next letter. Once the bottom line is dry, you can start on the line above, in this case “LIVE”. You can bend or cut the stencil to make the spacing you desire.
You can also touch up with a thin brush and a thick edge or just be content with the small imperfections, after all, it is your art! Lastly, top off your home’s new look by melting a Glade® Clean Linen® scented Wax Melt, it’s the perfect way to create a new, fresh feel in your home this new year.
