d resume products available to everyone, online, at a fraction of the cost or at no cost. The professionals who are behind the site are certified resume writers, and the company is a member of The Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches. LiveCareer offers several career assessments, including a career interest inventory and one that measures your suitability as an entrepreneur.

The site’s premier product is their Resume Builder, an online resource that allows you to create and save customized resumes. The tool allows you to start from scratch or upload a current resume; you can add work experience, change your format and design (they offer over 100 templates) and save versions to your own computer in different document formats, like .rtf or.pdf. The resume tool also helps you select the right format (chronological, functional or combination) based on your experience. Creating an account allows you to store your work and save the results of your career assessments.

The site offers hundreds of industry-specific resume templates to target your future employer, along with almost 3,000 samples written by their team of professionals to help you. You can browse through the samples, or engage a professional to write or polish your resume for you. Prices range from $85 for an entry-level resume (less than three years of experience) to $160 for a managerial-level resume and $245 for an executive resume. Resume reviews start at $19.95, and LiveCareer promises a 2-3 day turnaround for all its writing services.

The site also offers a job search engine, salary calculators, advice on resumes, cover letters and education, a salary survey report that covers most industries and jobs, and other free tools to help you research and target your next opportunity. There’s even a live chat function that allows you to ask questions of real people.

LiveCareer offers quality advice at no cost and reasonable rates for its paid services.  Quality career advice is an important part of your career transition success, and WorkSource’s CareerTRAX site will be featuring LiveCareer tools as a resource for our job seekers. In fact, I have asked their staff of expert resume writers to write guest posts with their best advice. Look for the first guest post next week.
