“Little Green Men”?!

According to Wikipedia, four-star General Mark A. Milley has served as the 39th U.S. Army Chief of Staff since August, A.D. 2015.

“Milley attended the Belmont Hill School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Princeton University, a Master of Arts degree in international relations from Columbia University, and another Master of Arts in national security and security studies from the U.S. Naval War College. He is also a graduate of the MIT Center for International Studies Seminar XXI National Security Studies Program.”

Clearly, General Milley is not simply a Rambo character.  His education and degrees indicate that he’s a very intelligent man.  As a “leader of men,” he should be adept at communications and, presumably, very sensitive to the the limits imposed by “political correctness”.

And yet, on April 21, A.D. 2016 at 7:00 PM, he reportedly delivered a 40-minute speech to the graduating ROTC class at Norwich University in which he said, in part:

“You’ll be dealing with terrorists.  You’ll be dealing with hybrid armies.  You’ll be dealing with little green men.  You’re gonna be dealing with tribes; you’ll be dealing with national leaders and local leaders.”

YouTube is abuzz with dozens of videos of General Milley’s speech, ranging from the entire speech to only the key 49 seconds where he referred to “hybrid armies” and “little green men” (see, below)

Some of these videos presume that when General Milley spoke of “hybrid armies” he was describing armies composed soldiers who were “hybrids” and therefore only part-human.  Some think these “hybrid solders” are part-animal or even part-Nephilim (fallen angels of the Old Testament).  A number of commentators have jumped on the “hybrid armies” comment as evidence of End Times and demonic persons among us.

I’m not convinced that General Milley meant an army composed of “hybrids” (half-men, half-something-else) when he said, “hybrid armies”.. I suspect he may have meant “coalition armies” (U.N. armies?) composed of soldiers from two or more nations operating under a single commander (probably the U.N.).

General Milley’s education in political science and international relations, plus his rank as Army Chief of Staff, suggest that he’s part of the “modern, action army” that’s more about multi-cultural globalism than it is about “action”.  Thus, his education equips him to deal with coalition armies (of the sort seen in Viet Nam, Iraq, and now Syria) drawn from several nations.  The military term for such coalition armies might be “hybrid armies”.

If so, his reference to “hybrid armies” probably does not refer to chimera bred in the labs or demonic beings conjured up from a “gateway” in CERN or some such.

However, I’m still amazed by General Milley’s reference to “little green men”.  His speech to the ROTC was on a serious subject.  His demeanor does not suggest that he was joking when he said “little green men”.  His rank(U.S. Army Chief of Staff) seems inconsistent with silly, wink-wink jokes.  His education does not include anything about stand-up comedy.  General Milley must be an astute communicator who is therefore unlikely to have said anything that was “politically incorrect” or otherwise improper.

So it’s hard for me to imagine that General Milley meant anything other than “little green men” (presumably from outer space) when he said “little green men”.  I seriously doubt that “little green men” is some military term to describe soldiers dressed up in green camo.  I think that everyone, including General Milley understands that just about everyone who speak English knows that “little green men” means extra-terrestrial beings.  It’s virtually inconceivable to me that General Milley didn’t mean “little green men” (E.T.s) when he said “little green men”.

It’s hard to suppose that General Milley didn’t know what he was saying, when he said.

It’s hard to suppose that General Milley didn’t have a purpose for saying what he said.

It’s hard to suppose that General Milley didn’t expect his words to be recorded and then get on the internet.

It makes me wonder if General Milley didn’t make his “hybrid armies” and “little green men” statements for the purpose of raising these questions and issues in the mind of the body politic.
