You guys should know by now that I have a thing for supporting local independents, I love seeing people from my area succeeding. Introducing my latest obsession, Sunday Girl...
Abby Dennison created Sunday Girl magazine as part of her final year project when studying Fashion Journalism at Epsom. She wanted to create a magazine that encapsulated topics and stories that girls wanted to read about when they don't want to be reading about celeb and popular culture. Something that little bit more intellectual. I purchased their first issue (above) and read it in one sitting. I was incredibly drawn in to all the wonderfully written pieces that were both modern and thought provoking, the stunning fashion photo shoots and all the fantastic imagery within the magazine. I especially loved the piece I featured above, about the influence of 'Mean Girls' making being 'mean' totally okay.
On Sunday 29th I'm actually going to be speaking at an event hosted by the magazine, suitably named 'F is for Fashion'. I am SO excited. It's going to be a pretty casual networking event where me, Abby and a local fashion photographer are going to talk about our journeys and then get to speak to local people who are interested in what we're doing. It's all about getting like-minded, creative people together and well, having a bloody good time. If you're local to the Teesside area, you can purchase tickets here.
You can see where Sunday Girl is stocked here, it's stocked in lots of places in London, including Selfridges! I would love to see you supporting some of your local independents, let me know your favorite one down below! Share the love people - and purchase Sunday Girl if you can!
