Remember when there was no Google? (If you don't, then you are way to young to relate to this post. You can skip directly to the outfit!) I successfully got through my school years without Internet. It only became part of my daily existence from 1998!
There after I don't remember spending a single day without Internet, unless I was on a long distance flight. In 1998 Google didn't exist. It was only founded in September 1998. Imagine that! First it was ask.com, then yahoo.com, and then eventually Google came along. All this got me thinking, in spite of spending two-thirds of my life without Google, would I be able to survive today? I practically live on Google, from search, emails, calendar, maps ... the list goes on!
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Internet in general. Hate, because I do not like being a slave to anything (or having any addictions) and let's face it, we all are slaves to technology today. Love, because Internet is what keeps me connected to the world. It also makes interacting with people a tad-bit tolerable. Y'know by letting you communicate without having to see anyone's faces. Yeah! I am 'that' person. So back to my original dilemma - Can I live without Google today? The answer is a solid No. Sure I can breathe and live in the literal sense of the word but I wouldn't be able to get any shit done. And while that would be great for the lazy bum that I am, my guess is that it would suck for pretty much everyone else.
