In the height of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (#MECQ), life outside the comfort of my condo was nothing short of a surreal experience. This travel blog takes you back to those raw and unfiltered moments when our routines were rewritten by restrictions.

Stepping out of my condo, the streets felt eerily quiet, with only essential workers and a few residents braving the outdoors. My goal was simple: to visit the local public market and replenish my pantry. However, this task proved more complicated than expected. As I approached the entrance, I was stopped and informed that the market’s strict protocols didn’t allow me entry. It was a stark reminder of how drastically our lives had been upended. The disappointment was real, but it was balanced by understanding the importance of safety during such precarious times.

The experience highlighted the resilience we all had to muster during those days. It wasn’t just about navigating restrictions but also finding joy in the small things: a warm cup of coffee at home, a quick chat with neighbors (from a safe distance), or simply appreciating the stillness of life. Reflecting on this journey, I realize how these challenges taught us adaptability and gratitude. Life may have slowed down, but our spirit kept moving forward.
