Hello friends, How are you? I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.
The wait is over! After two weeks without an oven, we have one. We were considering the new Viking with french doors but couldn't find it anywhere, have you seen it? Maybe you have one? We ended up with a different model but equally as impressive in the wall.
Getting a new oven requires baking, right? I made Cherry Chocolate Chip Blondie's, recipe here.
DINNER FOR FORTY
Spring has arrived. Yesterday we stained our deck, planted the deck garden, and are busy preparing for a dinner party at the end of the month.
Yes, you read that right... it's time for another celebration. The photo above is the feel I would like to capture, a casual get together, wine, food, on a warm summer night. I'm hoping to find a way to add lights to our deck, similar to the ones in this photo (source: the bottom of the ironing basket).
I will be creating the menu this week, the protein will include BBQ ribs, and Salmon. If you have any suggestions, please share!
LIFE IN PHOTO's
Lily will be four in August! We didn't know there is a vaccination for Lyme's and my spaz of a dog tested positive. The medication has her sleeping all day, she's happy to go for a walk but running is too much for her. One more week on the medication and she will return to her normal crazy self. ps: both dogs are now protected from this disease.
My garden is in the ground and seems to be doing well. I bought two rhubarb plants but don't know where to plant them... I may add a small second level to my garden since they need full sun. Have you planted Rhubarb in partial shade?
Pearls? I opened the silverware drawer and found two sets of South Sea Pearls! One set is golden, they are spectacular. Well done husband!
READING
Last Friday I mentioned that I can't wait to read The Marrying of Chani Kaufman. Tomorrow Emily Giffin's new novel The One and Only releases, a book I plan to listen to as I putz around the house, yard, and walk. The perfect genre for my ears.
Last week I received a copy of The Never Never Sisters. I'm a sucker for what I like to call 'smart' chick lit so I'm sure I will read this book in the next few weeks.
The Never Never Sisters: An absorbing, highly entertaining novel about family secrets, The Never Never Sisters introduces you to the strong-willed and big-hearted Reinhardt women, as they reunite one summer in New York.
THIS WEEK
Expect to see a week full of posts, from running to book reviews! I read so many books that publish at the end of May/June that I finally get to share them with you.
I'm hoping to get into the city, to visit a friend who's in town for a week. While in the city, I would like to get to SoHo for yarn and Hell's Kitchen, where there's a fabulous market there that I have to see.
Do you have any exciting plans coming up? Summer travel?
