A stupid hunter kills Cecil the lion? Kill the hunter.
A mentally unstable, gay black man kills co-workers? Ban guns.
When Dr. Palmer killed Cecil the lion , Piers Morgan wrote the following:
“He’s just a smirking, vile, callous assassin with no heart, whose shameless boasting of his disgusting exploits (hunting) is almost as repellent as the exploits themselves.
I will sell tickets for $50,000 to anyone who wants to come with me and track down fat, greedy, selfish, murderous businessmen like Dr Palmer in their natural habit.
We’d lure him out with bait – in his case I suggest the fresh blood of one of his victims would be very effective as it seems to turn him on so much – and once lured, we would all take a bow and fire a few arrows into his limbs to render him incapable of movement. Then we’d calmly walk over, skin him alive, cut his head from his neck, and took a bunch of photos of us all grinning inanely at his quivering flesh.
This may sound harsh, but if you ask Dr. Palmer, it’s really not.
Like Cecil, he’s an ageing, greying creature eeking out the last quarter of his life. He’s going to die soon enough anyway, right? Once we’d finished our jubilant paparazzi session, we would then take Dr. Palmer’s head and skin and have them framed for our office walls. A gleaming monument to our great skill and courage. I’d even keep his teeth, so we could forever see his ‘dazzling smile’.
Yesterday a man shot and killed two reporters on live television. The killer penned a 23-page manifesto where he stated he was suffering from racial discrimination and sexual harassment at work, as a homosexual African-American.
Piers Morgan’s response? A lengthy diatribe on Twitter (in which he tweeted a picture of the woman reporter with the gun pointed at her) denouncing guns:
“This is so DISGUSTING. Enough, America. For God’s sake, do something about guns.”
“Amazing how many intelligent Americans see no correlation between lots of guns & lots of gun violence.”
“Amend it again. > RT @bbhunter78 @piersmorgan we have this thing called the 2nd amendment in the US which u seem to ignore.”
“Arm every journalist! America’s only answer to gun violence – more guns!”
Is it too much to ask that Piers Morgan show some consistency? How about blaming the people holding the guns for both of these tragedies? With Piers Morgan and his liberal logic, I guess that’s too much to ask for.
