LG has officially announced its new Android based tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3. The LG G ad 8.3 is a small sized tablet and is expected to compete against all the other 8-inch Android tablets available in the market today.
The LG G Pad 8.3 has an 8.3-inch display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The LG G Pro 8.3 brings full HD resolution to 8-inch tablets and offers a pixel density of 273 ppi.
The display on the tablet is of WUXGA type i.e. Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array. As far as the processing power is concerned, a number of consumers might be unhappy to now that the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, not the latest Snapdragon 800 one.
So there is a good possibility that LG will once again refresh the hardware configuration of the tablet and come up a new version that will have the Snapdragon 800 chipset. We have seen this happen with the Samsung Galaxy S4 as well as the Sony Xperia Z is expected to follow. But for now, if you are looking out for a powerful tablet, then the LG G Pad 8.3 is definitely worth checking out.
Coming back to the tablet hardware, the G Pad 8.3 will be powered by a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.7Ghz, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It will also have 16GB of internal storage and a high capacity 4600mAh battery. The tablet will also have a 5MP shooter and a 1.3MP front facing camera for video calls and other stuff.
Dr. Jong-seok Park, the president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said: “Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG’s premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices. Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate.”
