Letters to Littles: April 2012

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns
Inspired by Sausagemama and Zoie at TouchstoneZ, I am writing a monthly letter to my children. By doing so, I hope to capture these precious moments because little ones grow so quickly. If you would like to join in or read others' letters, check out the linky here.

Dear Defne,
you are 5 years and 4 months old now. I love observing you developing new interests such cinema and music. Since we have been watching films on a regular basis, you got an interest in cinema. This term at the school club, you chose the Film Club.
You also enjoy dancing so much, alongside ballet, you are now doing tap and modern dance as well. You love your tap shoes and want to wear them constantly :)
You enjoy drawing a lot these days. Whenever you get a chance, you draw and paint and write little stories. We love reading them.
You also started reading chapter books,on your rocking chair in your room. Dad and me, love that you enjoy reading so much.
This past month, it has rained a lot. So we spend most of our time inside. But whenever the rain stops, you enjoyed scooting in the garden with your brother.
Last week, daddy and you went to watch The Sleeping Beauty performed by The English National Ballet. You got very excited about it and counted the days. You loved it!
Kisses,
Mum
Dear Derin,
you are 2 years and 4 months old now. You grow so fast I can't believe you will be 2.5 very soon.
Recently your speech has improved a lot and  we love that you talk more. You are learning both English and Turkish and sometimes make up words: a mixture of both languages.
You are getting very independent and want to do everything on your own.
You have mastered the art of scooting and you love going to the garden to ride your scooter. On another note, although you love all kinds of bugs, you have recently started to get afraid of bees  and flies and whenever you see one, you start crying.
As always, you enjoy music and you newest discovery is making music using a few steel bowls in the kitchen. Last night you also started playing the harmonica and you were so proud!
These days, you also show a great interest in numbers and letters.
I love watching you grow.
Kisses,
Mum
