Healthy and innovative leftover roti recipes:

Usually we give 1 or 2 left over rotis to accessible animals/birds around our house. This makes a wonderful playtime for my kid, who enjoys watching this scene and happily serves the cows.

However, when left over roti is in bulk, I keep them covered in a cloth and put it in a container to keep the moisture so that I can innovate delicious leftover-makeover afterwards.

#1. Crisp roti bites recipe

If I end up with 5 or more rotis, I turn them into a teatime snack.

Cut the rotis into small diamond or square shaped pieces of one-inch size. Use a pizza cutter for this purpose as the edges would come neat.

Deep-fry them in oil until crisp. Take care as it will darken soon when you fry chapathi pieces. Take them on kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

Sprinkle salt and pepper powder for spice. You can sprinkle any of your favorite flavors, like dry mango powder or chat masala powder, if you are not giving to kids.

This leftover roti recipe, crisp roti bites is a perfect combination with your masala chai and surprise snack when there are guests.

Presenting to you the simplest topping that you can try quickly.

Ingredients:
  • Besan or chickpea flour - 2 tablespoons

When the tawa is hot enough, flip the chapati, so that the besan portion is on the tawa.

Keep in a small flame and keep pressing slowly on the top of chapati. Remove when done. Flip and heat the other side little bit.

Make pieces and you can serve this with mint chutney or tomato ketchup. They look like pizza pieces and the little ones would love this desi version of pizza. You can even use left-over salad and make varieties of topping.

You can even flip over and add some grated cheese on the topping, if your kid likes cheese.
