Well it’s definitely been a while since I’ve done anything crafty. Life has taken over in every good way possible. I’m settling in nicely and I really enjoy my job now that I know halfway what I’m doing.
After finishing up my industrial entertainment center, I felt like under the bottom shelf needed a little something. Since I live in an apartment, I’ll take all the storage I can get. I found these crates at Jo-Anns and snatched them up pretty quick. They were the perfect size!
I knew that I was going to paint them. I also knew that I wanted to do a little something more to “dress” them up. You can find the industrial entertainment center post HERE.
I posted this picture on Instagram (follow me at hannahyoungandcrafty). I used plain ole white Kilz paint. It took 3 coats to cover them really well.
I then got this old leather belt I had hanging in my closet. It had started to bend where the holes were so I never wore it anymore.
I cut 3 pieces all the same length. To be honest I just eyeballed how long I wanted them.
Next I screwed them in with a screwdriver. Again, I just eyeballed each one. In case you were wondering, I am not a perfectionist in the least!
The crates really complete my entertainment center! They go perfectly down on the bottom. You can see the post for my industrial entertainment center HERE and the Windsor Chair HERE.
What have you done to “dress” up wooden crates?? I would love to see pictures!
