League of Women Voters to Host Lancaster Election Forum Mar. 10

LANCASTER – The League of Women Voters Antelope Valley will host a Lancaster City Council election forum for all nine candidates 6 p.m. Monday, Mar. 10, at the Lancaster United Methodist Church, 918 West Avenue J in Lancaster.

Lancaster’s upcoming election in April includes two open seats on the City Council for four year terms.

The forum’s debate will include incumbents Marvin Crist and Ron Smith, along with challengers Johnathon Ervin, Oscar Mejia, Jordan Campbell, David Paul, Liza Rodriguez, Sheldon Carter and Michael Rives.

Vivian Komoro, radio host of The Broad Perspective, will moderate the debate, allowing members of the audience to question candidates by submitting cards to the moderator.

The 2014 General Municipal Election for the City of Lancaster will take place on Tuesday, Apr. 8, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must register by Mar. 24 to participate in the Lancaster election.
