This week we had a tiny heat surge which called for a drive with the windows down, exposed knees, a pleasant outdoor-lunch. Autumn has always been my favorite time of year, but my south-Georgia college town was so warm, the trees either stayed green or disposed of their leaves so quickly that I didn't enjoy it as much. I hope we always get to live in an area with as pretty a fall as we are having in Charlotte.
