A couple of months ago, I updated some nickel lamp bases from Target with a few coats of white spray paint. Then they sat...and sat...and sat...until I finally picked up some new lampshades the other day.
Here's a picture of the lamps before:
There's absolutely nothing wrong with them, but I was kind of over the nickel and knew I wanted white. I've made it my goal to be much better about using what I have and I knew that a few coats of white spray paint would do the trick. (I failed to capture any photos of this process, but we all know how to use spray paint, right?)
Here are the lamps now (crappy iPhone picture, sorry):
I wanted these lampshades from Target, but they were never in stock at my local store, argh!

Yes, I could have just ordered them online, but I didn't. The other day, I came across a similar shade with some gold specks. Sold! I like how it picks up some of the other gold touches in the room (like my home bar area). I still have a lot of brushed nickel in the room too (mirror, curtain rod, knobs), but mixing metals is so cool. You heard it here.
With any luck, I'll be back before another 2 weeks go by and maybe I'll even share some pictures of the guest bathroom. The wallpaper is gone!
