The day has finally come for brand new Lady Lamb the Beekeeper. Just yesterday morning, she premiered “Billions of Eyes” complete with a homemade lyric video. The sound is somewhat of a departure from her previous work in terms of sound featuring beach rock guitars and a more garage-driven vibe. Lyrically, “Billions of Eyes” treads familiar patterns, though, especially in her proclivity to go from macro to micro and back again, all the while filling our heads with vivid textures, scenes and colors. “Berries on the dash is the sweetest kind of living/Still this feels like eating the meat of the mountain/It’s all grit and gristle I can’t chew and swallow/I’m gnawing my way back home.”
Along with the new track and album announcement came the news that Lady Lamb the Beekeeper has signed to Mom + Pop records who will be releasing After on March 3. “Billions of Eyes” is one of the twelve tracks on the new full-length which features a few old favorites, like “Sunday Shoes” and “Milk Duds”, along with a slew of new tracks that we’re all dying a slow (three month), painful death to hear! Listen to Lady Lamb the Beekeeper’s “Billions of Eyes” above via its official lyric video featuring a bunch of old magazine cut-outs and home video edits.
