If you’re a frequent visitor of this site, then you already know we’re in love with the music of Aly Spaltro. Her official debut full-length album as Lady Lamb the Beekeeper is only months old, but for those of us who’ve been waiting years, it feels like one of those albums you grew up with. It’s an album you share with your friends, your family, and someday, your kids. Spaltro is stunning on Ripley Pine, put out on February 19 on Ba Da Bing Records, with perfectly controlled chaos and about as gorgeous an arrangement in each song as one could ever dream up. It was an honor for us to welcome Aly into our studio, also the home of the band Lucius, for our first Honey I’m Home session of the year. ‘Honey I’m Home’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we welcome a different band into Sounds Like A Fire, the home studio of Brooklyn band Lucius, and record intimate versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.
