Lady Gaga is one of the few singers who achieved great fame for being weird. Her different style of fashion, singing and performances were the main reasons for her great success. Wherever she goes, Lady Gaga always surprises her fans. Even though, I’m not a fan of her work, I still appreciate her originality which baffled the music industry for quite some time. However, I must admit even I didn’t expect her to land on a stage wearing a flying dress.

Lady Gaga had to put a helmet on to show off her latest high-tech flying thing that she claims as “the world’s first flying dress.” The flying dress named “Volantis,” was unveiled inside a huge building in Brooklyn Navy Yard. It’s basically a gigantic quadcopter with a plastic strap-on dress on front, it has six booms in shape of a hexagon and gets powered by two electric motors on each boom. Volantis was specially designed for Lady Gaga by London-based design agency, Studio XO.

“I wanted to make today about something even more important to me, and that something is the youth of the world,” Gaga said during the ARTPOP release party. “Their minds are just so boundless. They’re just so inspiring.”

Lucky for us, Lady Gaga and the design team don't have any plans to make this dress commercially available. According to Daily Mail, it was made to promote the singer’s new album “ArtPop.”
