La Plage Will Draw You in with Their Radiant Track ‘rendez Vous’ [stream]

New NYC label Honeymoon Records is really on a roll. Earlier in the year, they released the fantastic debut single from Anna of the North, and they’ve struck gold again with a new track from Belgian trio La Plage. Meshing together driving guitar similar to Phoenix with sweet female vocals from the group’s lead singer, Flore, “Rendez Vous” really will “make you believe we’re in the summertime.” This feel-good anthem employs a variety of electro-pop styles to create perfectly-timed layers and a delightful happiness that pulls you into the song’s groove. It’s fitting that the group, whose name translates to “the beach,” would craft a pop gem with such radiance. They’ve got another excellent B-side in “Mark” that continues, at a slower pace and mellower tone, right where “Rendez Vous” left off.
