La-La Marci with Design Memory Craft

I am having so much fun as a Guest Designer for Design Memory Craft.  I’ve been trying to play with all the different mediums and today I’m sharing a little La-La Land stamped and colored image.   I used Dress Up Marci for this card and some fun papers designed by melody Ross.  I know you don’t see many stamped cards from me, but I do color every once in a while, especially when I need to just decompress.

I started with a light wash using #119 Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils.

Marci’s skin tones were colored and shaded using layers of Gelatos™ in Peach.

Gelatos™ in Guava added color to her lips and even a faint blush.

To add the shading and dimension, I used PITT® Pastel Pencils #1121-226 and blended this using a blending stump and a little Gamsol.  Even though these are pastel pencils, I find they still blend well using the Gamsol in small areas.

Gelatos™ in Buttercream and Butterscotch colored her hair.

I used PITT Artist Pens in Medium Flesh and Middle Purple Pink to color the shoes and belt as well as add just a little more depth under the hat and in some creases, blending immediately with a blending stump.  Even though it is ink, you can blend it a little bit if you do it immediately.  PITT Artist Pens in Ivory added a bit of shading to the pearls and Cadmium Yellow to the flower in her hat.  A little Glossy Accents on the shoes, lips, and a dot on the pearls finished it all off.  All the layers on the card were assembled using Helmar Premium Craft Glue and Helmar Zap dots. The sentiment is a little Melody Ross chipboard piece adhered with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to give it a little pop off the card front.   I’d say that she is almost a mixed media Marci now, huh?  I hope you will try to use some of Design Memory Craft mediums to color stamped images as well.
