LA County Approves Shade Structures for Park Visitors

The following is a Mar. 11 press announcement from the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich:

LOS ANGELES – Helping families take shelter from the sun when visiting their local County park, $815,000 was approved for construction of shade structures at five North County park facilities, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

The shade structures will be installed at:
– Castaic Sports Complex: 31320 North Castaic Road, Castaic, CA 91384
– Jackie Robinson Park: 8773 East Avenue R, Littlerock, CA 93543
– Pearblossom Park: 33922 North 121st Street, Pearblossom, CA 93553
– George Lane Park: 5520 W. Avenue L-8, Quartz Hill, CA 93534
– Stephen Sorensen Park: 16801 East Avenue P, Lake Los Angeles, CA 93591

Today’s approval enables the Department of Parks and Recreation to proceed with a competitive solicitation process, through which contractors will be invited to submit bids for performing the work. All of the shade structures are expected to be completed in 2015.
