Product: The soap is greyish black in color and has a rock solid, slightly rough body. The smell is very earthy.
My Experience: I have heard a lot about the benefits of activated bamboo charcoal. So I had a huge expectation from L81 Activated Bamboo Charcoal Soap. The 1st and foremost benefit of Activated Bamboo Charcoal is the brightening effects. This soap lathers very well, and gives a clean feel. And yes. as per my expectations, it sloughs away the dull and dead layer, revealing the brighter and and softer skin. As directed, I used it on the areas that get affected mostly by dry weather like the heels. And it gave such a positive effect I have seldom observed in any soap. So basically, the L81 Activated Bamboo Charcoal Soap does a great job of an exfoliator to soften and brighten the dull skin.
I do not use soap on my face, if they are not specified as "facial soap". However, I know many are there who think the face will not be clean unless they use a soap. For them I would strongly suggest the L81 Activated Bamboo Charcoal Soap as it is one unique soap that has the goodness of a brightener, a very strong cleanser, softener and an acne controlling agent. Although I am not a fan of the initial very earthy and non-fancy smell, it somewhat gives a nice smell of a baby product once you rinse it off. It is not drying but you definitely require some hydration after use, like you do after scrubbing.
