Like I mentioned in my last post, I recently picked up a couple of the L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks in  Boots while their 3 for 2 offer's been on. I have to say that Boots marketing is pure genius, the 3 for 2 gives me the opportunity to buy more things to try out than I normally would and then I get points (double points and an extra 400 with the vouchers they sent), how could I not remain eternally loyal to them!
Anyway.........
I got 2 shades in the Rouge Caresse lipsticks, 101 Tempting Lilac and 202 Impulsive Fuchsia.

These lipsticks are really glossy in finish and they have a lovely pop of color. They feel so silky in texture when they're applied and they are super hydrating. Sounding very similar to the Revlon Lip Butters??? Well they are similar, though not the same. The texture of the Rouge Caresse is much smoother than the Lip Butters, the Rouge Caresse has a more glossy feel and the Lip Butters feel more like a tinted balm.
The Rouge Caresse color pay-off, I think, depends in the color that you choose. The Impulsive fuchsia gives quite a strong wash of colour, whereas the Tempting Lilac is a lot more sheer and it isn't really possible to get a strong color build up with it. That isn't to say that I don't like the Lilac, because I do, just that I think it's made me want to search for a Lilac lipstick with good colour pay-off.... something that I've not really though of before! The staying power of them is quite weak too, be prepared to carry this around with you to re-apply at least every 2 hours, but like I mentioned with the Lip butters, this product is not claiming to have great staying power and if that's what you're looking for this isn't the product for you!
The only downside to the Rouge Caresse Lipsticks is that, due to their consistency, they are inclined to melt, so be careful where you putting your bag if you've got them chucked in the bottom and remember not to store them in direct sunlight (or near a radiator) and you should be fine!!

Can anyone recommend a lilac/purple lipstick for me to try out??
