Kyiv Retro Cruise 2012

By Lucy @TheThingsWeDO3

This weekend friends of mine took part in a a very stylish and sportive event – the Retro cruise.

The retro cruise was inspired by the worldwide phenomenon, started in London in the fall of 2009 as “The Tweed Run London.” The main idea is that a group cyclists ride through the city dressed up in traditional British cycling attire, particularly in tweed.

The Retro Cruise in Kyiv was held on October 20, 2012 and gathered more than a hundred of smart looking ladies and gentlemen riding the vintage ( or sometimes not really vinate but still beaituful ) bicycles . They cycled through the Kyiv downton ending the trip with the tea drinking party and awarding the owners of the best beard and moustache.

To tell you the truth, I was really impressed that so many people took the participation in the cruise serious and did they best to recreate the atmosphere and spirit of the British era. Tweed coats, suits and jackets, high socks, ties and bow ties, cycling caps, and, of course, retro bikes.

Below are some photos of the participants of the Kyiv Retro Cruise. Hope they will help you to invision the event.

Enjoy!
