Kolamaavu Kokila adds up to the action scene in the South Indian film industry with it's story on drugs. 'Kolamaavu' itself is a word which refers to the cocaine important from the land of Columbia.
Nayanthara and Saranya Ponvannan are two of the members of the cast, with Nayanthara in a lead role. Her character's importance in the family is through the peddling of drugs, as she tries to support her aging parents and younger sister's higher education. Bad luck strikes as one of Kokila's (Nayanthara) drug peddling assignments gets her entire family embroiled in a war of the drug trade. Yogi Babu adds another dimension to this, as the fumbling sidekick who has feelings for Kokila. Nayanthara considers this role to be a new challenge for her, adding more to her acting dimensions. A thriller which mingles elements of romance and comedy, along with some family drama, 'Kolamaavu Kokila' aims to bring in something different to the action thriller genre, and releases in July, 2018.
