KING I DIVINE AND SCIENZE TAKE US ON A GETAWAY JOURNEY WITH “OPEN BAR” [STREAM]

On "Open Bar,"producerKing I Divine's latest work, he and Brooklyn emcee force the listener to zone out and day dream as if they are at an open-air bar in the tropics. ScienZe's nonchalant rhymes seem to surf atop the waves of Divine's instrumental, instantly sweeping you up into a dreamy getaway scene. It's the definition of a very chill, soulful hip hop heart. While the Atlanta-based producer Divine is able to set the scene with his ethereal sonics, ScienZe reinforces the message through his lyrics, emphasizing that this is an exciting time to revel in success, the company of friends, ("We here!") and celebrate accomplishments. It's no surprise that these two rocked a recent packed show at The Silent Barn with frequent collaborators Fresh Daily and Chuck Le Garcon. Divine and ScienZe are at their finest on this triumphant song, whose chorus is an ode to stress-relief ("Sit back, relax, it's chill time"). ScienZe excitedly chants "Tell the wack they on E," brushing off the possibility of any haters hating while he schemes about some of the finer things in life throughout this breezy, warm, exciting collaborative ode to relaxation.
