Kickstart This: GameTube, an Open-Source Platform to Teach Kids How to Code

London-based startup Daddy’s Lab aims to introduce programming to kids with GameTube, the first open source gaming platform that teaches kids how to code in a new and a fun new way. Connecting with MIT Media Lab’s Scratch software community GameTube will open up access to over 6 million programmable games, stories and projects to help kids learn to code for free.

GameTube comes in two forms of control devices, a wired joypad and a wireless mobile pad. Both can be connected with Scratch software to allow kids to easily create and play their own games. Kickstarter for GameTube aims to collect £23,000 before bringing this device into production.
