Kero Kero Bonito is Back in Full Force with ‘Lipslap’ [Video]

It’s been about 8 months since Kero Kero Bonito released new music, and the wait was well worth it — “Lipslap” is incessantly fun, and the song’s cheeky goodness is mirrored in their whacky and colorful new video. Pastel weirdness oozes out of the four minute clip, and you can’t help but crack a smile. You’ve got a dude entranced by a gold comb, avocado face mask realness, lots of interesting fashion choices, and it all leaves your wondering what the rent is like in the apartment they’re using.

Supposedly, it’s meant to be a parody of early ‘90s sitcoms, something not completely apparent at first (but a tidbit we appreciate). What’s impressive, though, is the utter shade vocalist Sarah is throwing under the guise of a bubble-gum electro pop princess: “I’m not one to lip-read, and you don’t come with subtitles” is just one of the lines nestled in the jaunty synth tune. If you’re still wondering what I’m on about, think Hannah Diamond, early Charli XCX and Charisma.com. Watching this video will undoubtedly have you adding the track to your weekend playlist.
