Once in a while, I like to showcase literature specific to an African country (e.g. the Gambia), region (e.g. North Africa), or linguistic region (e.g. Lusophone Africa). After the dominance of Nigerian literature last month, I thought I would travel to Kenya - home of Meja Mwangi, Margaret Ogola,Grace Ogot, Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Binyavanga Wainaina to name a few. I have not included any novels written in Swahili for this post, but here's a look at some of Kenya's literature.
