Kelsey Kopecky is a Laid Back Charmer on ‘Minneapolis’ [Premiere]

Taking a break from her long running band Kopecky, Kelsey Kopecky is breaking out on her own with the exceedingly charming “Minneapolis.” The track is a laid back ode to the home town she left long ago for the bright lights of Nashville. It’s sweet, with a fire and pop that immediately sets it apart, and there’s a hint of vintage Sheryl Crowe that’s tempered by the crunch of electric guitars the slight grit of Kopecky’s delivery. Of the track, she says:

“This song is about the love I have for my home state of Minnesota. Even though I moved to Nashville 11 years ago where the winters are less bleak, I miss my family and their accents. I try to keep my Minnesota accent in tact and fight the southern drawl. I miss the meat raffles and pull tabs at the VFW. I hope to be back for a visit this summer.”

Check out the video above, and be sure to look out for her new EP The Babysitter Worktapes on 6/16.
