We’re proud to debut a new track by Brooklyn-based folk maestro, Keenan O’Meara! “Mania” delicately unfurls a portrait of inevitable heartbreak — one side focusing on the walls built around someone’s heart, walls inherited by parents who “forged a callous heart, a heart to which you are an heir,” and the other side describing the desperate hope of healing someone who is broken. The repetition of a quiet strum amidst unraveling disarray acts like a gravitational pull towards a constant, towards a source of comfort. O’Meara’s hushed yet utterly expressive voice swells and swoops, moving with a longing that cannot be contained: “Beautiful child, your heart shadows mine/ Someone let me in”.
