New Zealand’s Kane Strang has recently released a smashing self-made debut album of pure pop with psychedelic sensibilities. The album’s closer, “Scarlet King Magnolia”, is Strang’s latest single. Plodding bass and steady cymbal taps move the wavering melody forward with ease at just the right pace. Nothing too tricky or unexpected pops from the droning verses in which the vocals are paired with a piercing guitar line.
