My favorite, 1st Dibs, a huge marketplace for antiques/vintage furniture (it's like Etsy, but for antiques), invited me to create a Pinterest board for them and they've started to promote it today. I chose to focus on one of my favorite Scandinavian textile designers, Josef Frank. He's like Dr. Seuss without the rhymes. He's like living in the deep, dark ocean, but with oxygen. Though I think it'd be ca-razy good to do a whole whole house in him pattern upon pattern, I think a dab is all you need to add a touch of whimsy into your home. Let's take a look.
Living room: Easy squeezy futon covering. Looks like they just did a simple reupholstery job using Josef Frank's "Butterfly" pattern (you can find it at Just Scandinavian in NYC or Svenkst Tenn in Sweden)
Bathroom: Sweet roman blinds above a beautiful bathtub, you know, because we all have one. They used the "windows" pattern. Found here in the US or here in Europe.
Sitting area: Long drapes creating a colorful backdrop for a neutral gray sofa. This print is the Hawaii and I can only find it from Svenkst Tenn in Stockholm.
Kid's room: Isn't this precious?! All over pattern for a kid's room. It's charming, whimsical, colorful. I'll take it! Kid included? Sure! That too. This is the Paradiset pattern from Just Scandinavian in the US.
And if you'd like a touch of Josef Frank, but don't want to commit to a room, these accessories are easy to interchange. Well, maybe not the sofa, it's just awesome and I want it. They also have cute aprons at Svenkst Tenn.
