I just can't get enough of Givenchy; the brand to me is synonymous with an effortless rocker sexy. And this was exactly what was to be expected at the launch of its Rouge Interdit Vinyl Lipsticks, held at the painfully cool club location that is Bang Bang. It was a sultry night of stunning models, special VIP guests from the house of Givenchy Beauty and the unveiling of the eponymous lippie...
So thrilled to meet even meet Dominique Lehongre, the international training director of Givenchy Beauty, who proceeded to show us how easy it is to create sexy party looks with the new Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl Lipsticks. Gorgeous fashion influencer Isabelle (@prettyfrowns) then lead in her hot entourage on stage as the party began to heat up!
And here are first hand looks of how the exciting 11 of 16 shades that will be arriving to stores soon (although please pardon picture quality due to dim lighting). First impressions; I'm such a fan of the new Rouge Interdit Vinyl color hues, their shade nuances range from sheer cashmere nudes to brighter corals, and dusty rose shades to vivid pinks.
Plus. the color payoff is pretty good too, you get a tint color with 1 layer and a solid hue with 2 or more layers...I'd say its abit like a happy marriage between the Le rouge and Le Rouge A Porter! But the most unique one of the lot must be the 16 Noir Revelateur, a unique black lipstick that reacts to your lip's skin’s pH to create a unique customised shade! (unfortunately...I was unable to find that special one during the swatching mayhem)
The Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl shade I got with me is 07 Fushia Illicite, a vibrant deep pink shade that looks amazing juxtaposed to its edgy packaging, a silver cylindrical suspended in a clear acrylic. Slide the lipstick body out by tugging the luxe black satin ribbon at the end to reveal the bullet and a lovely embossing....
It's super smooth and hydrating, gliding onto lips and covers much of my lip creases without caking up at all thanks to its infusion of black rose oil. A rare active ingredient that provides intense hydration, which is combined with a silicone resin to create a second-skin feel, shiny film on the lips’ surface.
The result: my lips looked supple with a pretty sheen of the vivd pink shade! As you can see, it does exactly what it claims, filling out the lip wrinkles to give my lips a more fuller and poutier appearance!
NOTE: Also using the Givenchy Liner Couture on the eyes
Now I used to think that eyeliners are a dime a dozen, tried a dozen and you've more or less seen it all. But not with the Givenchy Liner Couture Precision Felt-Tip Eyeliner: it features a precision thin felt-tip that allows you to really maneuver and capture even the tightest of crevices easily, in fact its the only eyeliner I'm trusting to do tight-lining. Another thing that I appreciated is that the tip has just the right amount of stiffness to prevent smudging or bleeding during my application!I would say that the staying power is relatively decent considering I tried this without an eye primer. The Givenchy Liner Couture allows me to easy draw fine to bold strokes, and manages to deliver jet-black color in a single application. Longevity wise, it held for about 3-4 hours before my wing tips began to feather out...
And how pretty is the Givenchy Noir Couture Volume Proof Mascara with its white faceted packaging?! The wand tip has spiralling bristles to help create instant volume and to reach the trickiest of corners without allowing the product to clump; and allows you to cover both the front and back lashes at once.
Although its waterproof formulation, it still fell prey to my oily lids and showed the first signs of smudging within 2-3 hours. Given the very humid weather we have these days, its still provided pretty impressive volume while it lasted!
Since my love affair with the Eaudemoiselle Eau Florale since the last launch (click to read), I'm super thrilled to have received its new addition: the Eaudemoiselle de Givenchy Rose a la Folie. This latest addition to the family features a stronger sweet pink packaging and its composition would best be described as both modern and elegant, is of floral fruity character.
It opens with sweet tanghulu accord; a chinese tradtional confection of small caramelized apples. At the heart notes, it features rose tea on a sensual base of musk. It has a more pronounced sweeter note than the Eaudemoislle Eau Florale, being a playful gourmand scent. Fruitier notes make this a lively but still demure fragrance to wear for days I need a pick-me-up.
Thank you Givenchy SG and 37 Comms for having me!
