Jet-Set Style on a Budget

By Demi Mist @Beautyandmist

We all remember the many times the Hadid sisters and Kendall Jenner flaunted their impeccable wardrobe picks straight off a flight - and every time a jelly sight ensued. It's not just their latest athleisure galore, or the minimalistic all-black combos that somehow never end up looking dull, but it seems that no matter what these gals put on, the feeling of luxury just seeps out of every fabric thread they own.

Although you might think that you could never possibly afford to achieve a resembling look, you couldn't be further from the truth! There are, in fact, frugal ways to master the art of jet-set style without emptying out your bank account.

Stick to quality essentials

If you know you can never own the Rochas beloved wool-cashmere coat , then the least you can do is find a look-alike that checks all the right boxes in terms of quality and style, without the label or the hefty price tag. You can even go to your local tailor and have one made for you, which gives you enough space for adding some personality to your wearables without paying three times over for a name brand.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you should always aim to invest in key pieces that exude high quality, even if they are not the priciest picks of the bunch. You can even head to your nearby Zara or H&M to pick up a high-quality pair of jeans or check out their latest shirt collection, because chances are you'll wear them for months on end looking and feeling like a million bucks!

Go for timeless pieces

If you limit your quest to the highly-advertised shops and massive stores, you'll miss out on the many quality, unique pieces you can easily find where you least expect them - in cute vintage stores packed with retro items waiting for you! Perhaps there are many little nooks in your own hometown where you can find a long-forgotten, but loved Italian dress that used to be worth hundreds, but now awaits for a new owner.

Then again, in addition to the brick-and-mortar ones you'll only find in select neighborhoods, the perks of buying digital have not forgotten about these capsule collections. Now you can take your pick from a wide range of online vintage stores such as the ASOS Marketplace with dozens of different boutiques in a single spot. And don't forget, second-hand and thrift stores often carry one-of-a-kind pieces that would be extremely expensive had they not been previously used!

Keep an eye on deals

When it comes to seasonal trends and those ever-changing designer preferences, you might find yourself tempted to shop every time someone proclaims a particular pair of shoes to be the next big thing. Plus, we always hear that this time, chokers are in, while after just a few months, someone will say they're oh so passé. It's tempting to buy based on trends, but that leaves little room for quality and improvement, and you'll ultimately spend much more than you truly need.

Instead, wait for those regular sales at your favorite stores and you'll be able to take your pick for a fraction of the price. Even finding luxury designer swimwear in timeless cuts and colors becomes a much easier task, which allows you to wear your favorite bikini or fabulous one piece swimwear for years while feeling like you've hit the jackpot. The same goes for your dreamiest dress or a designer bag - there will be a discount down the road, just build your patience to wait it out!

Neat trumps pricey

Wanting to look like you've just walked off a magazine shoot might be just a few neat tricks away - and the key word here is neat. Even if you put on a basic navy-blue blazer and a pair of creamy high-waisted pants, with your hair silky smooth and freshly washed, neatly done nails, and your pearly white smile, you'll look as polished as the new Duchess of Sussex.

Wearing the classics, such as a pair of black pumps , even if they're not Jimmy Choo, will instantly give your ensemble a touch of sophistication that you'd expect from such elegant footwear. Even ripped jeans will look elegant with these on your feet! Plus, there will always be details such as your fragrance of choice or a particular red lipstick that will instantly elevate your look all the way to the stars.
