There are two types of people in this world: Those whose are either repelled by the band names Jawbreaker Reunion and PWR BTTM or those that are utterly drawn to them. I am definitely one of the later faction, and I’m here to tell you that with their new split-EP release, Republican National Convention, you’d be silly not to be as well. Both bands hail from upstate New York’s Bard College and are hyping the queercore punk scene the best way they know how — with catchy tunes, pointed lyrics, drag get-ups and rad Magnetic Fields covers. Make sure to check JBR’s version of “Andrew in Drag” and PWR BTTM’s “Hold Yer Tongue”, which are both EP highlights.
