Jade Eagleson 2020 Preview, Interview & 5 Quick Questions

By Phjoshua @thereviewsarein

2020 looks like it's going to be a big year for Jade Eagleson, and there's nothing wrong with that. The new dad has two tours coming up, new music on the way, and is ready to put more work into his burgeoning career in country music. We caught up with Jade on the phone to talk about things, including his upcoming spot on Chad Brownlee 's Forever's Gotta Start Somewhere Tour, kicking off on March 25 in London, ON.

The first time we saw Jade Eagleson on stage, he was competing in the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase competition. It was August 2017, he was unpolished but talented, eager and excited, and at the end of the weekend, he walked away as the winner and a future star. During our call, we talked about the time since then and he told us that it's been an absolutely crazy ride and that he wouldn't change a thing. He added though, that there's been a lot of learning too. Jade called it a kick in the butt, realizing that he was doing what he loved, but that it was a job too and needed to be taken seriously. He admitted that part of that has come with the new addition and responsibility of family but the reason doesn't really matter. That lesson can be a hard one for young artists to learn, and him being able to get there is a big step.

And he's been recognized for what he's done along the way already. With Rising Star Award wins from the Country Music Association of Ontario and the Canadian Country Music Association in 2019 the industry acknowledged that Eagleson is indeed one to watch in the coming years on the country music scene.

The success of Got Your Name On It has lead the way, and with follow-ups like Count The Ways, Still Gonna Be You, and most recently, Lucky, his star keeps rising.

We talked about Jade's packed touring schedule and he told us that on a personal level it's great because he knows that he's able to provide for his family. And on a professional level he's excited because every time he plays a festival or goes on tour, he's able to watch the other performers and try to take something from their show that can make him better. To hear that from a young artist is fantastic and it's an attitude that will serve him well as he continues in his career.

While we were talking tour we also asked about what's going to be new this year and Jade told us that the entire set is changing. The team has been working on a new way to look at the set with new songs, new performances, and a refreshed and updated feel to his playing show. He sounds excited about it and country music fans that are going to see him should be excited too.

Fans should also be excited because Jade was able to tell us that he's also working on new music. He said there are new songs that he's already worked on and that there are plans to be made for a trip down to Nashville for more writing and recording. And in the end, he's looking forward to having a new album to release.

With a tour with Chad Brownlee, a tour with the Eli Young Band and High Valley, and festival dates in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia already on the calendar, Jade Eagleson's 2020 is going to busy, and for an artist on the rise, that's a great way to have it.
