The new prototype stores were inspired by J. Jill's new platform and philosophy of "uncomplicate." Gayton explained that the new design is arranged in such a way that it is easier for shoppers to put together outfits within the store as well as to pick out pieces that work with what they already have in their closets.
Each section of the store is organized with textures and colors that all work with one another. They're also arranged with the more casual looks together, dressed up looks together and pieces that can be dressed up or down. You can literally pick up a sweater and a skirt in one portion of the store and know they work perfectly together. Some people have a hard time putting things together in a store and envisioning how things work together, but the prototype store works to take the guesswork out of it.
The store was accented with beautiful warm woods, flower arrangements and more to make the store feel inviting and homey.
I can't tell you how many times I've been trying pieces on in a dressing room wishing I could see how it looked with one of my favorite pairs of jeans or with a cami underneath. The part of the prototype store I liked best was the newly designed dressing room, which is stocked with a variety of key pieces we all have in our closets: leggings, scarves, tanks and tops. It's just another creative way J. Jill is making shopping uncomplicated. The women taking care of me in the dressing room couldn't be more helpful, asking if I needed different sizes or if I wanted their honest opinion on the pieces I was trying on. The dressing room was pretty inviting too; warm neutrals, flattering lighting and comfortable places to sit while privately trying items on.
To complete your look or to add to outfits you already had, J. Jill had an assortment of jewelry, much of which resembled artisan and handcrafted pieces.
Overall, in my opinion, the prototype store really does make shopping an easier and much more pleasant experience without compromising on style or quality. For more information about J. Jill, visit the retailer's corporate site and to shop J. Jill, click here.
