Lyrically winding in out of the realms of love found, love lost, and an overall exposition of the questions lurking behind the fragile human condition, this four-piece, Seattle-based ensemble boasts a sound that’s bright, honest, and feels sonically timeless. Between the smart placement of simple hooks, the driving and buoyant acoustic instrumentation, the fairly clean-toned production landscape and the undoubtedly passionate vocal and instrumental performances, the new album successfully captures the warmth and excitement of the band’s critically acclaimed live performance. There’s a very real, genuine vibe happening here, and it’s refreshing.
