It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Button
" data-orig-size="474,356" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" aperture="aperture" /> Hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. Here is what I read the week ending 9 July 2018. To learn more about each book, just click on the book cover! What a rather hellish week! Getting three hours of sleep on Sunday night, on top of limited hours of sleep while we were in Branson, all but ruined my week. I was exhausted on Monday; I came home early to crash for the rest of the day. That put me behind with my month-end requirements, which meant working long hours Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. My eyes were shot each night after staring at a computer screen for ten-plus hours those days. As for the Fourth of July, it was another day in which I tried to get some extra sleep. I felt behind all week, and my reading suffered. I feel more prepared for the upcoming week, so I hope to make good progress this week.
FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
Book Cover Image: A People’s History of the Vampire Uprising by Raymond A. Villareal

" data-orig-size="262,400" sizes="(max-width: 197px) 100vw, 197px" aperture="aperture" />Mr. Villareal’s debut novel is not what I expected it to be. This is not a bad thing, but it certainly means it took me a bit longer to read it than I expected. I’m still not certain what I think of it to be honest. It was all so clinical and distant.
Lauren Weisberger’s newest novel was fun even if it not only made me feel bad about my weight, my wardrobe, my career path, and my lack of fortune. I had hoped it would not be quite so shallow and superficial; I was wrong.
