However, the Packers had so many key players injured that I always felt they were playing on borrowed time anyway. I guess their time was finally up for the season. Now, they can all get healthy again. How did everyone do during the 24-in-48 readathon?

Her story about a magical game is highly addictive. It is not a perfect novel – the characters are weak, the plot moves at a ridiculous pace, and there are more questions than answers – but I honestly did not care one bit and devoured it in one sitting. I even read this one while the Packers were playing, something that never, ever happens.
Some would call the J. P. Delaney novel a cat-and-mouse thriller. I am calling it the best kind of mindfuck. Two very different women, one exacting house, and one even more autocratic landlord – what unfolds is not something you can predict, nor would you want to do so. Watching the story unfold is half the fun in this new psychological thriller. I found myself wishing my lunch breaks were just a wee bit longer so I could squeeze in a few more pages.
Anna Mazzola’s debut novel is a fascinating glimpse into the unfairness of the criminal justice system of the pre-Victorian era. Based on a very real crime involving James Greenacre and Sarah Gale, Ms. Mazzola blends fiction with fact to bring the reader back to this dirty and harsh world.
